COURG : Type-A

Brother got this as a gift for me back in 2015. It's a necessity to my apparel anywhere I go and don't wear any other watch but this. Love the simplicity and utilitarian look. Love the inspiration behind the looks tying back to WW2/Luftwaffe. I get compliments all the time. Being a limited run scares me that if I lose thiswatch, there's none other like this.

I really, really loved the looks of this watch. When I received it I knew pretty quickly it wasn't a quality time piece when I could hear the rotor 'rub' as it turned within the case. Nonetheless I wore it for a year, in and out of rotation with other watches. Within the last week however, I noticed it was running fast - really fast, to the tune of about 20 minutes over the course of 24 hours. This renders the watch absolutely worthless. In hindsight I realize now that I bought a story instead of a remotely decent watch.

Great built and tough looking watch. Skeptical at first but once received...... It took away my others wrist time. Did asked some questions and was reply promptly by them. All in all, great product and superb after sales service. Looking forward for their next flight!

This watch is exceedingly well made & rare among current market offerings.
It is made of very HQ materials, and keeps time well. The features are key as well...luminous glow in the dark markers, titanium case, etc....
I am ready to buy another model !!!!! GET ONE !!!! Lifetime fanatic here !!

I've been wearing my Type A for a week both on the ambulance and dressed up with a suit or with my Jeans and Ts. It has been subjected to mud,sweat, monsoons, and other unspeakable contaminants. It washes clean with minimal effort and looks classy and understated with any type of clothing.

You can feel the build quality and craftsmanship when you pick it up, light but solid, like a timekeeping incarnation of a Bugatti roadster on your grateful wrist.

The timekeeping is spot on with my atomic clock app registering it at sub 1 second variance per day...... there are $10k rolexes that can't post those numbers.

This watch is a solid investment and embodies everything a tool watch should aspire to be. Absolutely brilliant. The customer service was top notch as well.

I think a good flat two piece maybe vanilla scented rubber strap with Rdx titanium buckle could be a great addition to your menu. Cheers Jorge Gutierrez

Extreme comfort, weightless, two piece leather strap......difficult to put anything else on....nice purchase.

Our son Hunter loves his new timepiece and now is on time for most things. Huge improvement there thx to Courg.

The delay of the watch is 20 seconds per day.

I have enjoyed wearing and relying on this since I have received the watch. Keeps perfect time and is so nice to know I no longer have to worry about batteries. Easy to read at anytime. I am amazed at how clear and durable the crystal is. Will enjoy this for many years to come.

I like the face of the watch and the sharp contrast of the white markings and black background. I particularly like the bezel because I use it all the time. I would have given the watch 5 stars if the bezel had markings on all 60 minutes instead of the first 15 minutes.

A watch that has many personalities. A simple change of band creates a different mood a different story. I wear it every day with a different band .

However, if glass would be a bit lower inside casing, that would protect it from harch environment every men sometimes endeavor. Also neilon strap could be a bit thicket, more Ridged in order to balance such “fat” casing on wrist.

Watch has a great look and a great feel and an awesome movement. Just a little small

Cool looking tool watch with automatic movement at a reasonable price. My only criticism is the feel of the bezel when I turn it. Rather than gliding from click to click, it grinds, almost as if there were grit in it.

I've had mine for a little over a month now, worn it daily, and have what I assume to be an early production version that came with a black nylon NATO strap and a raw clay leather NATO strap. I prefer metal dive bracelets over any other strap, and I'm sure a Ti one would look good, but both NATOs are well built and the leather is breaking in nicely.

I love the clean, easily read face and it was a huge factor in the purchase, but wish the date was slightly bigger/more easily readable for my tired eyes. as others have mentioned the bezel is ratchety and the least smooth turn of any bezel I've touched. the crown is also by far the most tensioned turn I've ever felt and still haven't reconciled myself to the fact that I'm not really crossthreading the crown as I lock it back down.

I'd have loved to see it thinner than a 13.7mm height on it. It's chunkier than it needs to be, and I personally find that detracts from a more clean, utilitarian elegance that it could have achieved. if the tall, solid look interested me that much, I'd buy a Marathon diver. I do think the 39mm is the perfect size for it. a 42-44mm and 13.7 tall would have been too big for my tastes.

it's my first automatic, and running 2-7 seconds/day fast. that's easy enough to live with, and I prefer fast to slow. a few weeks in I had to advance the time 12 hrs in and reset the date to get it on time. that's only happened the once. I wound it when I unboxed it, put it on my wrist and haven't had to wind since.

All of the above said, I do like this watch and enjoy wearing it. it's my primary and I still have a Suunto Vector to really beat up if I want to spare this one.

if I was still flying professionally, I'd have said I'd love to see a GMT version.

Was in on the first round of these thru Kickstarter and had high hopes. There are several problems. First off the watch is wears way too thick for it's size. I would guess around 11.5mm which is around the same for my 40mm Chrono that has a much more complicated movement. Second is the dial, the lume on the dial is weak with the exception of the second hand. The bezel is one of the weakest parts of the watch. The lume at the 12 position looks like a drop of paint in a weird triangle shape. Also the bezel click is cheap and hollow, you can feel and hear the spring in it. When you do finally set it there is play in it and when it does lock down it does not line up with the markers. Lastly is the cheap NATO strap. The strap is not traditional in any sense. There is no second layer and the tail of the strap is so short you do not get that NATO loop back. Also the leather quality is so cheap and flimsly. Lastly is the crown, which may be the most troublesome part of the watch. The crown feels substandard, like that in a you watch. When loosened the crown has so much lateral play it feels like it might snap off. Thankfully the watch is still hackable but when tightening the crown back down there is so much play the threads do not seat well every time and feels like they are stripping at times. In all I wish this idea was executed better but for the money you can get a much nicer more refined watch. Fact is a Titanium case is not that special of a feature.

I like it. I wear it. Lightweight, mat finish, nice face. Good watch. Not broken in yet. Could be more accurate. Would like to see a bigger one, say 42 - 44 mm. Prefer leather strap. Date hole could be bigger and square. Hard to see.

At the time of the purchase by the terrible trouble of the Redux Co., because
I wanted to NOT use this watch, and I already resold it at a cheap price.

Received the watch several weeks ago and have worn it constantly since then. Love the look, but disappointed with it's functionality. Runs about 10 seconds a day fast (within the advertised accuracy of the movement), and the visibility of the face fades rapidly in the dark. I also should have purchased one of the other watchbands when I bought it. The standard band is an extended black nylon which allows one to wear it over clothing on the wrist, but that makes it bulky if you don't need that feature. Overall, for the price I paid, I am disappointed but will continue to use it and will have to compensate by its accuracy shortcomings.

First one ran 15 secs slow per day.. I gave it away. Second one gaines 2 secs per day, excellent. Nice size, good lum at night. For the price, a very good buy.

Excellent watch, light but strong, easy to read, even for ageing eyes, good timekeeper. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I purchased my Courg Titanium grade 5 watch around the first of January 2018. It looked great and I followed all the directions for starting it up. I set the time to one of my two Atomic clocks so that I would have the correct time. About a week later I noticed that the watch was a few (2) mins. out of time. No problem, it's new it needs to "shake down" and brake in. A week later it was off a few mins. again. I contacted customer service and had to send a $25.00 fee to RDX before they would accept my request for support. How about that a new $450.00, less then a few weeks old and I have to pay $25.00 to talk to them! Any I get an e-mail, I correspond with "customer support" a few times and I agree to give the watch more "break in time". A couple of weeks later and the watch is a full 5 mins. out of time. I tell "customer support", they tell me to "Please know that we will surely resolve this issue accordingly. If you can possibly send us a video showing us this problem and I will hand it over to our service team. We will surely proceed with what's best.". NO, wrong this is not the way it works. I want a refund. No response by e-mail so I call their office in NY. I get a recording, and I left a message. All of this is as of 02-08-18. I'll keep you posted. But as of now, buy something else I own several ORIS and Rolex watches, maybe I should just stay with them.

Since I recieved my type A it has become my weekday and travel watch. The grade 5 titanium color makes it look so sleek and I’ve gotten compliments. Movement of the watch is superb and I have no complains whatsoever. I would buy it all over again!

Bought one of these a few yrs ago when they first came out. Recently found it in storage and was reminded how peeved I was at its lack of quality, especially for the grade 5 Ti price point. Feels cheap, bezel has a ton of play, crown nearly falls off when I try to wind it...cool design, terrible execution. For the money I'd try Steinhart, Florijn, Lumtec, anything else really.

I’m still waiting the courg after a month !!!
