COURG Zero-Hour Titanium Pilot Diver Watch Hybrid

The COURG ORIGIN: Mission critical pilot instruments, fused with diver tools.

COURG is a way point, which is a navigational tool used by pilots to chart their flight across the globe. Way points are composed of 5-letters and made to be spoken as a word so pilots can quickly transmit their location via radio. This particular way point stands just outside Washington, DC and as you probably guessed -- is pronounced COURAGE.

We chose COURG because courage is a character trait we could all use more of -- choosing to make the right and often difficult decisions even when we know the going will get tough.

COURG Aviation Waypoint

ZERO-HOUR: LEAN, MEAN, MACHINE.

Refined to the core 3-6-9 hour elements, this dial is driven by diver watch functionality where distractions are stripped away to only essential elements that optimize legibility in murky conditions and aid instant instrument readouts. Zero-Hour is the military term for the scheduled time of a mission.

We selected a classic 39mm size and implemented a date window at 4PM.

Titanium encased. Powered by your adventures.

Built from premium materials inside and out with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, which we've coated with an anti-reflective glare layer. Titanium grade 5, bead blasted and 50% lighter than a stainless steel equivalent.

The uni-directional titanium bezel prevents accidental rotation, and provides rugged precision machined teeth for grip.

This watch is rated to 20 ATM with a screw down crown and streamlined crown guards to protect the movement from external shocks.

The dial is matte black with our proprietary RDXb1 luminous paint that glows a true blue at night, paired with a C3 green second hand and bezel marker.

Our date window cutout is circular to increase visibility of the numeral and add to the overall iconic design, with white numerals on black.

Wish all of my autos were this accurate.

Most accurate automatic I’ve ever owned. By a long shot. Great watch!

I like this watch

I look is very sleek and classic. No brand names on the face. Light weight and a good size, not to big or small. I got the leather band and it adds to the look. I did have an issue and had to send it back. Service and communication was good but slow.

A true tool watch for the modern age

Man i dont know where to begin this review. I initially tried to purchase the courg zero hour while deployed overseas. I was looking for a lightweight tool watch that could stand up to use in the field and needles to say the courg fit that bill very well with its 39mm titanium case, reliable Seiko NH35 movement, scratch resistant sapphire crystal, 200m wr, and elapsed time bezel. Unfortunately we ran into problems shipping it to my APO address overseas and eventually I opted to have Redux just send the watch to my home address in the states. Not only was Redux patient in trying to work with their shipping agency in figuring out how to get the watch to me, they also retroactively refunded me 15% as I qualified for the Valliant Alliance membership (which I was not aware of at the time of purchasing), and even included a couple of beautiful extra straps free of charge. That kind of customer service is pretty rare today to say the least, and is a true testament to the integrity of the company. Now regarding the actual product, what can I say, it does what its meant to do very well. The zero hour dial is very legible both day and night which is important in my type of work. The lume is quite nice, the crown threads very well into the case, and this watch has one of the better executed date apertures Ive seen in a long time. The case is very comfortable to wear and for a 39mm watch has great wrist presence - if you're on the edge because of the size I would say go for it. The straps are also really well made and very comfortable. Overall a great watch from a great company!

A thing of beauty!

It really is a handsome looking watch. Clean, clear design and not too big like some watches. Already got my eye on the brown strap for it :-)

Amazing watch

I bought this as a welcome home gift for my boyfriend after his deployment. He loves it! It’s a well made watch. Sturdy and high quality. Attention to detail is clearly something Redux takes pride in. We couldn’t be happier with the purchase. We look forward to purchasing other bands once they are back in stock.

A faithful companion

I wanted my watch simple and stripped of all superfluous accessories. She is strong and reliable and follows me everywhere in my outdoor activities. It is nice to finally see an object built to last far from the usual fashion and consumer standards.

new purchas

i bought a watch 5 weeks ago; my father was in the jewelry business; i am tired of boring watches; your watch is terrific; it is interesting, the numbers are large and easy to read; all the aspects of the watch make it fun; there are many kind of watches and they have all kinds of information on them; they are all difficult to read and boring; thank you for designing a real interesting watch at a reasonable price

Great watch; proud to wear it.

This watch is a great field watch: comfortable, easy for a quick read, reliable and sharp looking. Only wish: a very minor, subtle logo on the watch face would be a nice addition.

An interesting watch that could use a little bit of improvement.

Overall I am quite happy with the Zero Hour but it does have a few flaws.

1. The rotating bezel has a lot of play between the stops. Tightening up the tolerances on the ratcheting mechanism would improve the quality of the watch.
2. The painted lume on the face could be better. Switching to a higher quality luminous paint would be one solution, tritium capsules would be my preference.
3. Something inside the watch does rattle a bit when the watch jiggles.
Those issues aside, I am very happy with the purchase. The watch is worth the price even with them.
As an added note, the watch pairs perfectly with the Prometheus Design Werx Titanium Watch Band Compass.

Just okay - 2 1/2 stars

Titanium is beautiful however there needs to be some design work done to get the bezel to rotate smoothly.

The lume is also disappointing as a watch at that price point should have self lume.

Automatic workings are also noisy and audible when the watch is moving.

Great watch Terrible watchband

Great watch Terrible watchband

Hi Michael, glad you're digging the Zero-Hour! Disappointed to hear you don't like the ballistic nylon strap. We'll reach out and find out more about why you didn't like the rugged strap.

It's an okay watch

It's a nice watch that sadly doesn't get much wristtime as it should. The reason is because it was my first kickstarter watch which looked and sounded awesome as an ad, but in reality it didnt captivate me as much when i finally received it. I felt like i had paid for a anonymous watch.

C
Customer
Second hand movements doesn't match.

I have paid this watch, at LEAST have some kind of quality for the hand movement. The second hand does not line up to the face. The entire of the second hand is shifted to 1mm. I do not use the clock any more. By the way, are you guys giving feedback 1 year ago? You should have waited another year.

Disappointed

I was really excited throughout the build up, but the actual product was poor. The movement rattles around in the casing. Super disappointed.

Masterful

Well-built to endure endless abuse, my COURG has not left my wrist since the day I received it. If durability, legibility, and style matter to you, COURG is the watch for you.

The most wrist time...

When I saw this finely crafted timepiece, I knew I had to have it. Although mine was used, it was still in excellent condition. I have plenty of field and pilots watches, but something about the Zero Hour dial had me sold. Simple and straight to the point. Perhaps the only con I have is the lume. I'll usually hang my watches above my lamp when I get home from work. A couple hours later when I go to bed most of my watches are glowing bright. However, the COURG seems to start fading within 10min or so. Not a deal breaker, but IMHO I think the creator should have gone with BGW9.
Other than that...this watch gets the most wrist time than all my other watches...

Tough, Attractive, Reliable

I love this watch. It is has been my everyday wear for a year and been with me to the Middle East, the UK, and Seattle in the heat and the wet. It is attractive, especially with the leather band. It does lose about a minute or three per month so it has to be reset monthly but that is par for automatic watches, I guess. Recommended.

Very well built watch and

Very well built watch and 100% satisfied.

Disappointed

First, the size of the watch was just too small for me, and the quality of the bezel movement felt flimsy. I sold the watch to John Boehm within a month of its arrival and took a loss. Good Luck in your future endeavors.

Very Slow in the Beginning

When I received my watch there were some very bad quality control issues. This with a very poor customer service platform. After approx. 1 year and shipping my watch off twice it was repaired. I have had my watch now for a month and I haven't worn any other watch. Hopefully the QC and the customer service issues have been addressed. You would have got 5 stars if you didn't have my watch for the repairs for this very long time.

Hi Russel, thanks so much for your patience and loyalty and sticking with us. We're constantly pushing to improve our customer care and service. We've sped up our turnaround times and also have a watchmaker now in the U.S. Thanks again!
